Employment Ontario

Second Career Strategy

The Second Career Strategy will help recently laid-off, unemployed workers retrain in order to make the transition to a  new career in a high-skill occupation that is in demand in their area.

The strategy provides financial assistance, based on individual need, to help people with some of the costs associated with a long-term training plan, including the cost of tuition and books.

Who can apply?

Recently laid-off, unemployed workers - whether eligible for Employment Insurance or not - can apply to participate in the Second Career Strategy.

For more information call 1-800-387-5656 or go to www.ontario.ca/secondcareer or visit your local Employment Ontario office.
