About the Board of Trade

  • Formed in 1998 to provide a common voice of business in Clarington. - we work with business people and government to improve and maintain a healthy business climate.
  • Contracted by the Municipality to execute the Economic Development function - our Business Development Officer is working to attract and retain business
  • Consist of a volunteer Board of Directors and over 360 local businesses - small and large companies from all areas of our Municipality, and all sectors of the business community
  • Joint effort of existing B.I.A.'s, Chamber of Commerce and Business Groups, working together for the benefit of local companies

Mission Statement

The Board of Trade advocates on behalf of and is the voice of the Clarington business community. The Board of Trade provides a forum for the business community to develop programs and opportunities to promote trade and commerce within the Municipality of Clarington.  The Board of Trade takes a leadership role in attracting and retaining business to our area and cultivates partnerships for a healthy social fabric in Clarington.
