Municipality of Clarington selects new Chief Administrative Officer
Clarington June 29, 2017/- The Municipality of Clarington has selected a new Chief Administrative Officer. Andrew Allison will take over the administration as Clarington’s CAO beginning on August 14, 2017. His appointment will be ratified by Council at its meeting on Monday, July 3, 2017.
Mr. Allison has a wealth of experience in Municipal government. He has been Clarington’s Municipal Solicitor since 2010. Mr. Allison has been working as a solicitor in municipal government for the past 25 years. He began his legal career in 1987 as a lawyer with a Toronto-based Bay Street firm Fasken Campbell Godfrey, now known as Fasken Martineau LLP.
“After an extensive search and interviews with many qualified candidates, Council felt that Mr. Allison has the qualities, leadership and experience to take Clarington into the future,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster.
“I am pleased to take over as the new CAO of Clarington,” said Andrew Allison. “The Municipality has grown by leaps and bounds and we have a bright future ahead. We continue to move ahead with key economic initiatives that will fuel Clarington’s growth. I look forward to building on our current successes and working with a talented administration to serve our great community,” added Mr. Allison.
Mr. Allison will take over from Curry Clifford, Clarington’s Interim Chief Administrative Officer who has been in place since the retirement of Frank Wu on September 16, 2016.
