A new one-stop, online service, BizPal helps local businesses start up or grow by providing access to information on business permits

and license requirements from all three levels of government. The main goal of BizPal is to make it faster and easier for entrepreneurs

to get started by simplifying the time consuming document research process.

BizPal is the result of a collaborative effort of the Municipality of Clarington, Service Ontario, and Industry Canada.

Planning and Permitting

 

Planning Policy evolves over time in response to changing economic, social and environmental factors.  It involves the preparation of long term land use plans for the Municipality which guide the management of land and resources. The key document for governing future growth is the Clarington Official Plan. The Plan is based on 3 principals - sustainable development; managed growth; and, a healthy community - and is implemented (in part) through the regulations detailed in the Municipality's Zoning By-Law.

The Office of Economic Development is more than happy to meet with purchasers, developers and contractors, to review the process of purchasing industrial land, address questions, and facilitate approvals. This includes clarifying regulation for industrial development, as well as a summary of costs, such as development charges, utility rates and municipal taxes.
