CLARINGTON, ON – As our economy begins to reopen, employee and consumer safety is a priority among businesses. A common challenge is the ability to effectively source protective supplies and materials as the Province strategically re-opens the economy. In order to facilitate the safe transition of businesses re-opening in a capacity comfortable for them, the Clarington Board of Trade (CBOT) teamed up with Canadian Tire Bowmanville and Greeley to provide single sourcing of PPE essentials: surface disinfectant, gloves, masks and hand sanitizer. Buying the items and selling to businesses at cost, CBOT drops the PPE at Greeley in Bowmanville where their team coordinates each order. Contactless pickup times are arranged throughout the week so that businesses can quickly and safely obtain the products they need to reopen.
Now through the second week of offering PPE essentials, 46 local businesses of all types have placed orders through CBOT. Supporting business and consumer confidence, together! If you are a Clarington business in need of essential PPE, please visit www.cbot.ca/ppe-order.
“We listen to business. This is the least we can do to help meet a need. We are beyond delighted with the response we have had not only from the businesses ordering PPE but with our partners at Canadian Tire and Greeley in Bowmanville who have helped make this possible. We can’t thank them enough. A perfect example of effective solutions resulting from effective partnerships!” – Bonnie Wrightman, Manager of Business Development, Clarington Board of Trade & Office of Economic Development
