Thank you to the local businesses who came out to learn how to do business with the Municipality of Clarington Thursday, May 4^th where they shared with members of the Clarington business community, the public procurement process, types of products and services the Municipality typically buys, e-procurement and how business can best prepare to be a prospective vendor to support Municipal projects. Also, thank you to the local businesses who have shared their experiences with doing business with Clarington and sharing your on supporting an effective process.

A few tips from local businesses who currently provides their services to the Municipality of Clarington: 

1. Read what is required, become familiar the terms of what the tender/bid is asking
2. Ask questions of the Purchasing Division, they are there to help
3. Be patient
4. Bid often, even if you don’t choose to take the project, this allows learning the process, provides name exposure and increases your visibility 
5. Start early, bids & tenders can be complicated so give yourself a lot of time to go through the requirement, and repeat step 1 often!
